Scotia online banks, including one with the UK’s largest bank, HSBC, will be available in Canada, the Philippines, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.
This is an example of how online banking can be used to move money and settle transactions, said Scotia chief executive officer Steve Taggart.
“These banks are able to provide customers with the flexibility to move their money between different countries and regions,” he said.
The move will enable Scotia customers to use other banking partners, such as Visa and MasterCard, Taggard added.
He said this is part of Scotia’s effort to improve the customer experience and provide them with better customer service.
The company said this was a part of its effort to provide the best possible service to customers in Canada.
