The mobile banking app is available to iOS users in Bangalore and Hyderabad and is available in Mumbai, Pune and Kolkatta.
Apple said the app will be accessible to both local and international users, though it will remain a free app for the time being.
Apple is not yet releasing a similar app for Apple Pay, the digital payment service that’s currently available in India for the likes of Uber and Flipkart.
Apple bank Online banking offers the convenience of making payments from an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
It will not be available for Android or Windows phones.
Apple Bank Online Banking is a joint venture between Apple, India’s National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and Apple Pay’s US and Australian partner, PayPal.
Apple Pay is available for iPhones in the US and US-based Indian merchants.
The launch of Apple bank on Apple’s mobile platform comes a month after Apple launched the service in China and South Korea.
