ABC News CEO Deborah Klugman announced Monday that her team will focus on a variety of topics, including national security and climate change.
The network’s news and opinion team will be led by news director James Goldston and a news editor in chief who will also serve as an anchor, according to a statement.
The new chief news anchor is expected be former CBS News chief Phil LaMarr.
The network also is expected use new digital platforms, such as YouTube and Instagram, in a way that allows news viewers to engage more with the content.
ABC News has previously announced plans to invest in new digital channels and platforms.
ABC News also is reportedly considering expanding its reach in the coming months.
Last month, ABC announced a new digital-first initiative to target younger audiences, including with new digital video and digital video platforms.
